Lynnwood, WA — A $10,000 grant from the Puyallup Tribe Charity Trust will provide food for the Foundation for Edmonds School District’s Nourishing Network program, which provides essential resources to students and families across the district.
This funding will support the purchase of food for key programs for students and families facing food insecurity, including seven pop-up pantries across the district providing nutritious and culturally appropriate food, 6,000 meals for 300 students participating in their upcoming summer camps, and weekend meal kits that reach nearly 800 students during the school year.
These programs are part of the Foundation’s broader approach to supporting the whole student by providing holistic support at school, at home, and in the community. By addressing basic needs like access to food, the Foundation removes barriers to learning and ensures students are better able to engage and succeed.
“These programs help ensure students have consistent access to nutritious food during out of school times,” said Deborah Brandi, Executive Director. “Support from the Puyallup Tribe Charity Trust helps make that possible for hundreds of families across our district.”
The Nourishing Network is a core part of the Foundation’s Health and Wellness work, reflecting a commitment to serving whole families and building stronger, more connected communities. Through partnerships and targeted support, the Foundation works to ensure students have equitable access to the resources they need to learn, grow, and pursue their goals.
