LYNNWOOD—A man was fatally shot by Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office Deputies near Martha Lake Park on April 1.
Earlier this evening around 5 p.m., deputies with the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a disturbance at a residence near the 16200 Block of East Shore Drive, near Martha Lake Park.
It was reported that a male suspect was armed with a handgun. When the responding deputies arrived, they encountered the suspect at the house.
Shots were fired, and the suspect was shot. Lifesaving measures were attempted, but the suspect died at the scene. No deputies were injured, and the homeowners were not injured.
The SMART team is now investigating the incident (Case #26-03). Positive identification and official cause of death will be released by the Snohomish County Medical Examiner’s Office.
East Shore Drive was shut down for a few hours while detectives investigated the incident.
