Feb 18: Today in History Feature

On this day in 1931, American novelist Chloe Wofford also known as Toni Morrison was born in Lorain, Ohio. Her works are praised for addressing the harsh consequences of racism in the United States.

In 1993, Morrison became the first Black woman author to win the Nobel Prize for literature. Morrison was also a recipient of the Pulitzer Prize and Presidential Medal of Freedom. Morrison passed away at the age of 88 on August 5, 2019 in the Bronx, New York.
