MUKILTEO, Wash., April 7, 2022 – The City of Mukilteo’s Youth Advisory Committee (MYAC) will host its first Mukilteo Beach Clean-Up on Saturday, April 23, beginning at 2 PM at Mukilteo Beach.
The clean-up, which is open to all members of the community, aims to teach our city about conservation and the environment through educational booths and a hands-on clean-up. Local companies, Waste Management and Soundkeeper, will be hosting booths, along with the Youth Advisory Committee.
There will be activities for all ages, including an interactive beach walk for children to learn about sea life. Older students will also be able to obtain service hours from their contribution to the community.
“I am impressed by the passion and thoughtfulness of our high school youth committee, and love their pride in our beach and park,” says Mukilteo Mayor Joe Marine. “I look forward to the event, and I hope to see lots of faces there on the 23rd!”
The Mukilteo Beach Clean-Up will be active from 2 PM to 5 PM, so people will be free to come and go throughout the event. Garbage bags and gloves will be provided. This is a free, public event so there is no need to RSVP. The MYAC members will also be in attendance and ready to answer any questions.
We hope to see you there on the 23rd!
