Snohomish County Medical Examiner’s Office report for January

SNOHOMISH COUNTY, Wash., February 1, 2023—The Snohomish County Medical Examiner’s Office performed six autopsies for the month of January – three deaths were vehicular related, one was gunshot related, one was fire related, and the other was due to environmental hypothermia. Below are the community members we lost.

January 19th, 2023

The Snohomish County Medical Examiner’s Office completed the examination and confirmed the identification of the 41-year-old male who was involved in a multiple vehicle collision and subsequently a pedestrian versus motor vehicle collision near Mile Post 27 on southbound Interstate-405 in Bothell, Washington on January 17th, 2023. The decedent is not being named here out of respect for the family. The cause of death is blunt force trauma. The manner of death is Accident.

January 9th, 2023

The Snohomish County Medical Examiner’s Office completed the examination and confirmed the identification of the 37-year-old male who was shot near the 7200 block of 47th Avenue NE in Marysville, Washington on January 2nd, 2023. The decedent is Stephen M. Collins of Marysville, Washington. The cause of death is gunshot wound. The manner of death is Homicide.

The Snohomish County Medical Examiner’s Office has completed the examination and confirmed the identification of the 38-year-old male who was involved in a pedestrian versus motor vehicle collision near Evergreen Way and Ttereve Drive in Everett, Washington on December 30th, 2022. The decedent is Daniel F. Martinez Gomez of Everett, Washington. The cause of death is blunt force injuries. The manner of death is Undetermined.

The Snohomish County Medical Examiner’s Office has completed the examination and confirmed the identification of the 57-year-old male who was involved in a single motor vehicle collision near the 12000 block of Marine View Drive in Tulalip, Washington on January 1st, 2023. The decedent is Kenneth S. Leciejewski of Tulalip, Washington. The cause and manner of death are pending.

The Snohomish County Medical Examiner’s Office has completed the examination and confirmed the identification of the 22-year-old female who was found deceased in an apartment building that had caught fire on December 24th, 2022 near the 6700 block of 196th Street SW in Lynnwood, Washington. The decedent is Hailey A. Kendall of Marysville, Washington. The cause of death is fire-related injuries. The manner of death is Undetermined.

The Snohomish County Medical Examiner’s Office has completed the examination and confirmed the  identification of the 76-year-old female who was found deceased in a parked car in the Walmart parking lot near the 17200 block of Highway 99 in Lynnwood, Washington on December 21st, 2022. The decedent is Jacqueline J. Buchan of Lynnwood, Washington. The cause of death is environmental hypothermia. The manner of death is Accident.
