Tonight’s the night to turn clocks forward one hour

At 2 a.m. this Sunday morning, March 12, remember to turn your clocks forward an hour for Daylight Savings Time—unfortunately you get one hour less of sleep.

The Sunshine Protection Act, to permanently make daylight savings time the new permanent standard time effective November 5, 2023, unanimously passed by voice vote in the U.S. Senate on March 15, 2022. However, this bill has stalled in the U.S. House of Representatives. Representative Frank Pallone (D), who chairs the Energy and Commerce Committee that has jurisdiction over the issue, told Reuters that the House is still trying to reach a consensus on the matter.
