Lynnwood, Wash., May 1, 2023—Pacific Crest Savings Bank is pleased to announce that Ryan Douglas has joined the Lynnwood community bank as senior vice president and risk officer. Douglas brings more than 16 years of experience in finance, risk management and public service, most recently serving as a senior bank examiner with the Washington State Department of Financial Institutions.
“Ryan brings a valuable perspective to Pacific Crest and our risk management programs, following his tenure as a regulator. We look forward to his contributions to our leadership team as we continue to stay grounded in our values while serving our clients’ banking and lending needs and our greater community,” said Sheryl Nilson, CEO of Pacific Crest Savings Bank. “We couldn’t be more excited to welcome Ryan to the team.”
As senior vice president and risk officer at Pacific Crest, he will oversee all areas of risk management to help ensure the bank continues to operate in a safe and sound manner, as well as head the bank’s programs to ensure compliance with consumer protection laws and regulations.
Prior to joining Pacific Crest, Douglas worked extensively in roles within the state government, spending the last six years as a bank examiner with the state Division of Banks, where he discovered a passion for community banking. He began his career as a revenue agent with the Washington State Department of Revenue, overseeing state and local tax compliance while working with small business owners.
“Pacific Crest really captures the spirit of a community bank, and its culture and commitment to the local community is what ultimately drew me here. I’m really looking forward to bringing my experiences and perspectives to this team,” Douglas said.
Born in Seattle, Douglas grew up in Kent and attended the University of Washington, where he earned degrees in economics and political science. He is also a licensed certified public accountant. Outside of work, he enjoys listening to various genres of music, exploring new places and cultures and spending time with his husband and their cat, Blueberry.
