SNOHOMISH COUNTY, Wash., August 5, 2023—Snohomish County is the lead agency of the Snohomish County Urban County Consortium (Consortium) for receipt of Community Development Block Grant (CDBG), HOME, and Emergency Solutions Grant (ESG) entitlement grant funds. These federal grants fund efforts to expand economic opportunities, keep people in their homes, and provide services for unhoused individuals, among other supports. The Consortium encourages all interested people, public agencies, organizations, and local governments to attend a public hearing on the uses and outcomes of supplemental Community Development Block Grant – Coronavirus (CDBG-CV2) funds.
The federal Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act and the U.S. Department of Housing & Urban Development awarded $38 million in CDBG-CV2 funds to the CDBG program at Washington State Department of Commerce. Ten million of the CDBG-CV2 funds were available to urban county CDBG entitlements. Snohomish County Human Services received $956,671 in CDBG-CV2 funds.
