Israel at war after Hamas launches Operation Al-Aqsa Deluge

TEL AVIV, ISRAEL, October 7, 2023—In a twitter video post released today, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that his country is “at war, and we will win it” after the Palestinian Sunni-Islamic terrorist organization launched Operation Al-Aqsa Deluge on Saturday morning penetrating into Israel. The surprise offensive is on the 50th anniversary of the 1973 Yom Kippur war.

“Citizens of Israel, we are at war,” Netanyahu said in his filmed statement on X. “Not an operation, not a round [of fighting,] at war! This morning Hamas initiated a murderous surprise attack against the state of Israel and its citizens.”

At least 22 Israelis were confirmed killed and at least 500 wounded, IDF reports. Reservists call to action. Israel is now launching Operation Sword of Iron in a counter-offensive to the Hamas invasion of its homeland.

Defense Minister Yoav Gallant in a video statement in Hebrew on X vowed that Israel “will win this war.”

“Hamas made a grave mistake this morning when it started a war against Israel,” Gallant said. “I call on citizens to obey the orders of the Home Front Command, they save lives. The State of Israel will win this war.”

Hamas terrorist stormed the country by air using hand gliders, foot and sea, with a launch of at least 5,000 rockets Hamas military commander Muhammad Deif said. Deif has called on Palestinians from East Jerusalem to northern Israel to “expel the occupiers.” He claims the offensive into Israel is retaliation for Israel’s “desecration” of the Al-Aqsa Mosque on the Temple Mount in Jerusalem.

Scores of gunmen are occupying southern Israeli villages killing civilians at random. Twitter posts show gunmen shooting people in the streets and raiding homes.

The Israeli Army reports that the border fence along Gaza has been breached in several places. Residents close to the Gaza border are ordered to stay inside their homes and shelter in place.

Israeli ambassador to the United States, Michael Herzog, called on the international community to condemn the Hamas offensive.
