“I am honored to have the privilege to learn and gain wisdom from the finest instructors at the FBI National Academy,” said Lt. Yeadon. “I am humbled by the opportunity to represent our extraordinary city and police department in this remarkable program and am looking forward to returning to Everett to serve our community.”

Lt. Yeadon follows in the footsteps of many past and present leaders of the Everett Police Department that attended this prestigious program. Nationally, fewer than one percent of officers have the opportunity to participate in the program. Police Chief DeRousse received his certificate in Executive Leadership, Criminal Justice/Law Enforcement Administration from the academy in 2017.

“The Everett Police Department is very thankful for the partnership we have with the Federal Bureau of Investigations, which allows our staff to attend this one-of-a-kind program,” said Chief DeRousse. “The value of this experience is immeasurable, and the department is excited to have Lt. Yeadon back in Everett, where he can share his experiences.”

Internationally known for its academic excellence, the National Academy offers ten weeks of advanced communication, leadership, and fitness training. Participants must have proven records as professionals within their agencies to attend. On average, these officers have 21 years of law enforcement experience and usually return to their agencies to serve in executive-level positions.

The graduation took place at the National Academy in Quantico, Virginia on Friday, March 15, 2024. The 289th session consisted of 197 law enforcement officers from 47 states and the District of Columbia, 23 countries, four military organizations, and five federal civilian organizations.
