PUGET SOUND—In preparation for the upcoming August 30 opening of the much-anticipated Lynnwood Link Extension, Sound Transit announces several road closures in North Seattle and Lynnwood.
I-5 in Northgate Road Closures
As early as Monday, April 15, Sound Transit will close the northbound I-5 on-ramp and off-ramp at NE 107th St for tree trimming as part of the Lynnwood Link Extension.
What
- On-ramp and off-ramp will be closed. See maps for detour routes.
- Crews will work at night to minimize effects on traffic.
- If the work is delayed, additional ramp closures will be scheduled and a new flyer will be provided to residents.
- Some bus routes may be affected. Please check the King County Metro website for details.Â

44th Avenue in Lynnwood Road Closures
As early as Monday, April 15, Sound Transit’s contractor will continue working on drainage installation, fiber tie-ins, and curb/gutter work on 44th Ave W. This will require crews to close the right-hand lanes on both southbound and northbound 44th Ave W, and the southbound HOV lane. Patrons will still have access to businesses’ driveways. The contractor has received a temporary noise variance to complete this work.

As early as Monday, April 15, Sound Transit’s contractor will perform road striping at 200th St SW and 44th Ave W as part of the Transit and Traffic Circulation Improvements Project. This work will require the closure of 44th Ave W north of 200th St SW. Detours will be provided (see map).
