Heat Advisory in effect from July 5 until July 8

SNOHOMISH COUNTY—The National Weather Service has issued a heat advisory for Puget Sound from 12 p.m. Friday, July 5, through 10 p.m. Monday, July 8. Residents are to expect hot conditions with temperatures in the upper 80s and 90s expected posing a moderate to major risk of heat-related illness.

Below is the daily forecast from Friday, July 5 through Wednesday, July 10:

  • July 5: Sunny, with a high near 81. Calm wind becoming west northwest 5 to 9 mph in the morning.
  • July 5, Night: Clear, with a low around 58. Northwest wind around 6 mph becoming calm in the evening.
  • Saturday: Sunny, with a high near 81. Calm wind becoming northwest 5 to 8 mph in the afternoon.
  • Saturday Night: Clear, with a low around 62. Northwest wind 5 to 8 mph becoming calm in the evening.
  • Sunday: Sunny, with a high near 82. Calm wind becoming west northwest around 6 mph in the afternoon.
  • Sunday Night: Clear, with a low around 62.
  • Monday: Sunny, with a high near 86.
  • Monday Night: Clear, with a low around 63.
  • Tuesday: Sunny, with a high near 85.
  • Tuesday Night: Clear, with a low around 60.
  • Wednesday: Sunny, with a high near 78.
  • Wednesday Night: Clear, with a low around 58.
  • Thursday: Sunny, with a high near 77.

This level of heat will significantly increase the risk of heat-related illnesses for much of the population, especially those who are heat sensitive and those without effective cooling or adequate hydration.

If you need to find a cooling center, call 211 or visit wa211.org anytime. The National Weather Service is reminding residents to drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Young children and pets should never be left unattended in vehicles under any circumstances.
