23rd Annual Snohomish County Transition Resource Fair Canceled

By Snohomish County Human Services | Press Release

EVERETT, Wash., March 18, 2020 – The annual fair that helps young people experiencing disabilities learn more about options for landing jobs and connecting with their communities has been cancelled this year as part of the coordinated response to novel coronavirus (COVID-19) in Snohomish County.

March 24 would have marked the 23rd year for the Snohomish County Transition Resource Fair. A decision to cancel this year was made in the spirit of taking steps to slow the spread of the virus.

“The fair’s sponsors are exploring additional and creative ways to get information out to those who likely would have attended and their families,” said Karen Matson with the Snohomish County Human Services Department.

The fair provides an annual opportunity for self-advocates and their families to access the people and tools available to help each individual pursue their employment and career goals. The free event has welcomed people with disabilities (ages 12 and older), their families, caregivers, teachers, and other interested community members.

The event is sponsored by the Snohomish County Transition Network and Everett Public Schools. If you have any questions, please contact Megan Edmonds of Snohomish County Developmental Disabilities at ddinfo@snoco.org or by calling 425-388-7320.
