ARLINGTON—A 42-year-old woman succumbed to her injuries from a fatal shooting incident in Arlington on Sunday, September 15.
At approximately 2:30 p.m. on September 15, Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to the 1900 block of 200th Street NE for reports of a shooting. Upon arrival, deputies located the victim, a 42-year-old woman, with gunshot wounds. Deputies performed lifesaving measures, but the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
During the investigation, Major Crimes Unit (MCU) detectives learned there was a verbal altercation between a 19-year-old male and a 42-year-old woman. The 19-year-old male then fired multiple rounds at the 42-year-old victim.
When deputies arrived on scene, the 19-year-old suspect had fled in a vehicle. The subsequent pursuit is being investigated by the Snohomish County Multiple Agency Response Team (SMART) and any information related to that investigation will be provided by SMART.
Positive identification of the 42-year-old victim, as well as cause and manner of death, will come from the Snohomish County Medical Examiner’s Office.
This remains an active investigation.
