BOTHELL—Major Crime Unit detectives assisted by the Snohomish County Violent Offender Task Force (VOTF), located, and took into custody Michael Knapinski, 49, a primary suspect in a Bothell homicide over the weekend.
At approximately 11:15 p.m., Friday, October 25, the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office responded to reports of a person down in a parking lot at the 20700 block of Bothell Everett Highway in unincorporated Snohomish County. Upon arrival, deputies found a 42-year-old male victim deceased at the scene.
Information developed during the investigation lead to probable cause of a subject known to the victim.
With probable cause to arrest the suspect for murder in the 2nd degree, MCU detectives, assisted by the Snohomish County Violent Offender Task Force (VOTF), located, and took a 49-year-old suspect into custody.
Positive identification of the decedent, as well as cause and manner of death, will come from the Snohomish County Medical Examiner’s Office.
This remains an active investigation.
