SEATTLE—Washington state Attorney General Bob Ferguson with Attorney General-elect Nick Brown, shared how for months his office has been preparing for a second Trump Administration. Ferguson expects President-elect Donald J Trump to be more prepared and not “sloppy” with issuing Executive Orders as his administration did four years ago.
With a 55-3 victory record against the first Trump Administration, he said that he has been preparing the best legal team in the nation to protect Washingtonians from Trump’s Agenda 47 and Project 2025, what Ferguson claims is a “900-page roadmap of what to expect from a second Trump administration.”
“What is in Project 2025 and Agenda 47 is an assault on reproductive rights, health care access, environmental protections just to name a few,” Ferguson said at today’s presser in Seattle.
Holding back tears, Ferguson said he finds Trump’s comments of “the enemy from within” deeply un-American. He added that he has a team of dozens dedicated to work civil rights and environmental enforcement cases as he expects the incoming Trump Administration to not follow up on these cases.
Project 2025 is a manifesto created by conservative think tank The Heritage Foundation building off its longstanding “Mandate for Leadership.” Trump has repeatedly denied any connection with Project 2025 during his campaign.
In October, California Governor Gavin Newsom on a visit to the Evergreen state when speaking to Democratic volunteers in Seattle, commended Ferguson for Trump-proofing Washington state.
“I don’t know of another governor [Ferguson] that is more prepared in the worst-case scenario to Trump-proof this state. How bless you are to have him [Ferguson],” Governor Newsom said.
