EVERETT — Economic Alliance Snohomish County (EASC) yesterday announced Former Everett Mayor and EASC founding member Ray Stephanson has been appointed as Interim Executive Director and CEO, effective Dec. 2, 2024. Wendy Poischbeg, the current interim president and CEO, will assist with the transition before taking on a new role leading efforts to reestablish the Greater Everett Chamber of Commerce.Â
Stephanson brings a distinguished career spanning decades in public service and the private sector. His leadership experience includes 14 years as mayor of Everett, six years on the Everett City Council, and roles in economic development and telecommunications at GTE/Verizon. With deep ties to Snohomish County, Stephanson is well-positioned to guide EASC’s strategic priorities.

Under Stephanson’s leadership, EASC will continue its pivotal work in strategic advocacy, workforce innovation, and industry cluster development, including successful programs like the Automation Industry Cluster. These efforts reflect EASC’s commitment to positioning Snohomish County as a competitive economic powerhouse.
Outgoing CEO Wendy Poischbeg leaves behind a legacy of impactful leadership, having spearheaded significant initiatives such as securing over $550 million in statewide investments for Snohomish County, launching the Automation Industry Cluster Initiative, and providing technical assistance to over 600 businesses through the Business Retention and Expansion program.
“I am so grateful for the opportunity to serve the Snohomish County business community,” says Poischbeg. “I am proud of what we have accomplished together, and I look forward to continuing to work with EASC in my new role.”
As EASC transitions to new leadership, it remains steadfast in its mission to foster collaboration, champion innovation, and serve as the unified voice for Snohomish County.
