“On behalf of the team at Pacific Seafood’s Mukilteo facility, I want to express our deepest gratitude to the Snohomish County Fire Department, Mukilteo Fire Department, Everett Fire Department, Lake Stevens Fire Department, and all other personnel who responded swiftly to the ammonia leak at our plant on December 13. Their professionalism and quick action helped ensure everyone’s safety, and we are truly thankful for their dedication.

“We also want to acknowledge and thank our neighbors, especially the YMCA, Mukilteo library, and Systems Interface for their patience and understanding during this incident. We know it was an inconvenience, and we appreciate the community’s support as we worked to resolve the situation.

“The leak was discovered in one of our refrigeration systems located outside the facility by one of our team members who engaged our emergency preparedness team, allowing us to quickly alert first responders. The cause of the leak was determined and repaired, and we are adjusting as needed to prevent future incidents.

“At Pacific Seafood, the safety of our employees, community, and environment is our top priority. While we always prepare for situations like this, we don’t take your understanding for granted, and we’re proud to be part of such a supportive community.

“Thank you again to our emergency responders, our amazing team members and to everyone who showed patience and cooperation on Friday.”
