OLYMPIA—‘Tis the season for some holiday cheer – and what better way to celebrate than with a chance to make this holiday season truly unforgettable? After Friday night’s drawing yielded no top-tier winners, the MEGA Millions jackpot has grown to $970 million for Tuesday night’s drawing, making it the seventh largest in the game’s history. If won tomorrow night, it would be the largest Mega Millions prize ever won in December.
“The thrill of our jackpot games, especially as they reach record amounts, is a big part of why people love to play the lottery, but it’s important for people to have fun and know their limits,” said Joshua Johnston, Director of Washington’s Lottery. “As a strong advocate for responsible gambling, Washington’s Lottery urges the public year-round to always play safe and approach every game with a sense of responsibility.”
DID YOU KNOW? Thirteen Mega Millions jackpots have been won during December since the game began in 2002. Only one was won on Christmas Eve in the game’s very first year.
Tickets for Mega Millions are available for purchase at Washington’s Lottery retail locations throughout the state. Players can find authorized Washington’s Lottery retail locations here.
