ARLINGTON—Snohomish County Council Chair Nate Nehring, 29, announces his intent to seek re-election.
Nehring was first elected in 2017 and then re-elected in 2021 with over 70% of the vote. Council Chair Nehring’s re-election campaign has raised nearly a quarter million dollars to date and has secured 200+ early endorsements from key community leaders and organizations.
“It is an honor to serve the residents of North Snohomish County on the County Council,” Nehring said. “During my time in office, I have prioritized balanced budgets with no tax increases, supporting public safety, and fostering family-wage jobs in Snohomish County. I look forward to the opportunity to continue serving the residents of District 1 for the next four years.”
Councilmember Nehring has made a point of working with others to get things done. As a result, he has been elected by his colleagues to serve in County Council leadership for several years. He also serves on the Board of Directors for the Washington State Association of Counties, has completed the National Association of Counties High Performance Leadership Program, and serves in leadership roles for over a dozen boards and committees throughout Snohomish County and Washington State.
Nate and his wife, Savannah, are both lifelong residents of North Snohomish County. They currently live in Arlington where they are raising their three kids: Kennedy (6), James (4), and Claire (2). They are both active community members, volunteering through church, youth sports, and local schools.
