Newly appointed Councilwoman to take Oath of Office at upcoming Business meeting

LYNNWOOD—For its upcoming city council meeting on February 24, newly appointed Rebecca “Becky” Thornton will be taking the Oath to Office and city staff will be sharing lobbying efforts.

Monday’s meeting will be hybrid both in-person and virtual. In-person meetings are held at City Hall Council Chambers 19100 44th Ave West starting at 6 p.m. Details for virtual meetings can be found here.

Oath of Office: Rebecca “Becky” Thornton

The City Council on February 20 appointed Rebecca “Becky” Thornton to the Lynnwood City Council Position 5 seat that was vacated in January of this year due to the resignation of Councilwoman Julieta Altamirano-Crosby to be sworn in as the new District 2 Snohomish County PUD Commissioner.

The Oath of Office will be administered to Thorton for the Council Position 5 seat.

Other City Business

  • Council Members who attended the Association of Washington Cities’ City Action Days will provide a recap of the conference.
  • The council will review and discuss Week 6 report from the City’s lobbyist firm Gordon Thomas Honeywell.
