Viral Taiwanese Bubble Tea House coming to Lynnwood this summer

LYNNWOOD—Popular Taiwanese bubble tea chain, HeChaLou Tea House and Jelly, is opening its first ever Washington State location in Lynnwood this summer offering the City’s tea scene a dynamic blend of Taiwanese tradition and modern innovation.

The tea chain was established in Taiwan in 2020 and quickly became the country’s fastest growing and most stable tea brands, the company said, since opening locations in the United States, Australia, and soon Malaysia.

HeChaLou’s made its U.S. debut last year with a location in Lakewood, California. Based on that location’s success the company decided to take its ‘easy-to-sip’ teas to the Pacific Northwest with its Lynnwood location opening sometime between May and June (depending on licensing and permits).

Franchise Owner of the upcoming Lynnwood location, Yen-Nien Wu, was a childhood friend of HeChaLou’s original founder. As an Everett resident he was the first pick to run the upcoming Lynnwood expansion if the company ever decided to branch out to Washington State, he informed the Lynnwood Times.

What sets HeChaLou apart from other bubble tea shops, Wu explained, is its signature Tea Jelly, which is a refined blend of tradition and innovation that “enhances textures and elevates the tea-drinking experience.” Teas range from smooth to naturally sweet, Wu added, with virtually no bitterness or astringency.

At the heart of HeChaLou’s teas is the shop’s assortment of various toppings which “elevate every cup into a gourmet delight,” said Wu.

Menu items include loose leaf teas, tea lattes, fruit teas, brown sugar boba, classic milk teas, and a rotating seasonal menu. Beverages average around $5 each.

HeChaLou literally translates to “Crane Tea House” in Chinese but its Mandarin pronunciation also cleverly resembles the phrase “Let’s Drink Tea.”

“Signature tea jellies and distinctive sesame jellies deliver bursts of texture and flavor, transforming an everyday tea break into a celebration of creativity and taste. This unique fusion of heritage and culinary flair invites tea lovers to explore a playful, modern twist on a time-honored tradition,” said Wu.

HeChaLou Bubble Tea House and Jelly will be located at 19888 40th Avenue West Suite A101 in Lynnwood, Washington. Though it is currently scheduled to open sometime this summer, an official opening date will be announced at a later date.
