The driver was allegedly high on methamphetamines, according to Lynnwood PD drug recognition expert Officer Orlosky. He then took off by foot, hiding under a nearby parked vehicle.

Lynnwood Police responded to the incident around 8 p.m. August 13, with Officer Hydara grabbing a fire extinguisher to extinguish the flames while Officer Magnuessen and K9 Cannon tracked the suspect straight to his hiding spot.

The suspect admitted to the crash, the fire, and the run, all while he was on the clock and delivering food. He was then taken into custody with charges of Arson, DUI (drugs), and Hit and Run.

The food was never delivered as the Lynnwood PD joked on social media Wednesday that it was “crispier than intended.”
