Snohomish County, WA – Recognizing that many small restaurants are suffering during the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic and some in the community are experiencing food insecurity, the Snohomish Census Alliance (a collection of organizations banded together to educate and encourage participation in 2020 Census) is partnering with local restaurants to provide a free boxed lunch to the community on May 2nd from 1 pm to 3 pm (or until food runs out).
For several months now, Communities of Color Coalition along with UTSAV USA, Latino Education Training Institute, NAACP, Gambian Talents Promotions, WA-GRO Foundation, Connect Casino Road, and many others have been educating about and promoting participation in the 2020 Census. Once our communities began to be directly impacted by COVID-19, we adjusted our process and are proud to partner with several restaurants throughout Snohomish County to provide a free lunch.
This lunch should accomplish three things:
- Further promotion of participation in the 2020 Census,
- Promotion of small restaurants and businesses that have been adversely impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic, and
- Give back to the community in a small way to show that we are stronger together, and that Everyone Counts.
Funding is being provided by the United Way of Snohomish County and the Census Alliance. The following restaurants will provide the boxed lunch:
