EVERETT—As Everett moves toward an important election, leaders across the region are standing firmly behind Mayor Cassie Franklin and her proven, forward-thinking leadership. Fourteen current mayors and three former mayors have endorsed Franklin’s re-election, a strong show of confidence from peers who understand firsthand the challenges and responsibilities of leading a city.

“City and County Councilmembers make rules and set policies. Mayors have to implement them and make those policies work for their residents,” said Lake Stevens Mayor Brett Gailey. “Cassie excels at doing so in a collaborative and thoughtful way while keeping regional leaders informed of the impacts and results.”
Over the past eight years, Franklin has guided Everett through complex and trying times -including a global pandemic, state funding limits, and nationwide challenges around housing, addiction, and homelessness. Despite these pressures, she has kept Everett stable, resilient, and on a path toward positive growth.
Under Franklin’s leadership, Everett has:
- Strengthened public safety and reduced crime by expanding police staffing to the best in Everett’s history, launching the Violent Crime Unit, investing in technology and creating an Alternative Response team.
- Expanded housing solutions with nearly 3,000 new units and 5,000 more in the pipeline, while dramatically expanding shelter capacity through partnerships and innovative shelter programs like the Pallet Shelter Village, offering dignity and pathways to stability.
- Secured fiscal sustainability, balancing budgets every year while protecting and investing in public safety, infrastructure and quality-of-life projects — from parks and bike lanes to small-business support and arts and culture.
- Built strong regional partnerships, collaborating with fellow mayors across the county, region and nation to share and advocate for solutions to tough issues.
“Mayor Cassie Franklin cares for her community. From growing businesses and creating jobs, advocating for manageable growth, and planning for expanded transportation options, she is a collaborator.,” said Lynnwood Mayor Christine Frizzell. “Cassie faces issues with proven leadership, heartfelt compassion, and a willingness to find answers that serve multiple sectors of her city and beyond.”
Franklin’s campaign focuses on continuing Everett’s forward progress to strengthen the greater Everett community, foster innovation, and ensure the city remains financially stable and welcoming for all.
“No one understands the challenges faced by small and mid-sized cities more than the mayors who lead them. I am beyond honored to have earned the trust of so many of my fellow mayors,” said Franklin. “These are leaders who know what it takes to move communities forward, and their support reinforces my commitment to building an Everett that is safe, vibrant, and serves our growing and changing community long into the future.”
With continued investment in housing, safety, and fiscal discipline, Franklin’s leadership represents not just continuity, it represents momentum. While others look backward, she’s focused on the Everett of tomorrow: a strong, connected, and inclusive city where residents and businesses thrive.
