This year’s Grand Marshal for the Electric Lights Parade is Rita Hendry in recognition of her outstanding volunteerism and dedication to the Marysville community.
7:15 p.m. Grand Tree Lighting with Mayor Nehring in Comeford Park
10 a.m. Heroes and Hoops Charity Basketball Tournament

Donations benefit Seattle Children’s Hospital and Toys for Tots.
Participating teams include Marysville Police, Marysville Professional Firefighters Local Fire 3219, Arlington Police, Everett Police, Granite Falls Fire District 17, Shoreline Professional Firefighters Local Fire 1760, Snohomish County Sheriff and Tulalip Police.

Free! Bring your family to 3rd Street to get a cookie bag, then visit over a dozen local businesses to receive a cookie from each one. Bags are at Hilton and Co. and 3rd Street Books. Artisan vendors, photo opportunities and special shopping promotions available in select participating businesses.
Traffic alert: State Avenue closure Saturday, Dec. 6, for Electric Lights Parade
On the evening of Saturday, Dec. 6, State Avenue will be closed between 4th Street (SR 528) and Grove Street for the Merrysville for the Holidays Electric Lights Parade. The road closure will start at 5 p.m. and reopen by 10 p.m. or earlier if possible. Marked detour routes use Cedar Avenue and Armar Road.
12 p.m. 5th & 6th Streets closed between State Avenue and Delta Avenue
Delta Avenue closed between 4th and 5th, will reopen by 10 p.m. or earlier
1 p.m. 10th Street closed between State and Columbia, will reopen by 9 p.m. or earlier
5 p.m. State Avenue closed between 4th (SR 528) and Grove, will reopen by 10 p.m. or earlier
Delta Avenue closed between 5th and 9th while parade is taking place
Delta Avenue will be closed between 5th and 6th streets for the weekend. Plan ahead for heavy traffic in the downtown Marysville area and use alternate routes when you can.
