Jenna Nand announces campaign for the 32nd LD House seat

LYNNWOOD—Edmonds City Council Member and small business attorney Jenna Nand on Monday, December 22, announced her campaign for Washington State House in the 32nd Legislative District. Her campaign is focused on ensuring equitable access to healthcare, solving our regional affordability crisis, expanding access to education, enacting real change in Olympia to end homelessness, and building climate resiliency in our communities.

“As the youngest Edmonds City Council Member and a small business attorney, I am a champion for hard working people in our community.” Nand said.

“I know what many families are going through because I’ve lived it myself. I spent ten years as a caregiver for my terminally ill father before he passed in April of 2025 and navigated a broken social services system to save a loved one who almost lost his life due to addiction. Now, I’m battling breast cancer. Despite everything, I’ve never stopped fighting. I’ve triumphed over every challenge I’ve faced and I will keep fighting for our shared values in Olympia.”

Nand is building a grassroots campaign that will carry the voices of people who are too often left out of the conversation to Olympia – working-class families, caregivers, people with disabilities, immigrants, and the LGBTQ+ community.

Nand was raised in a union household in Edmonds and Shoreline by immigrant parents from the Fiji Islands. She is proud to be the hometown candidate in the race. A graduate from Edmonds College and the University of Washington, Nand has a lifelong commitment to working people and organized labor and deep roots in the 32nd LD, having spent the majority of her life here since 1990.

Nand enters the race with a wide variety of endorsements from local leaders, including Snohomish County Executive Dave Somers, 48th LD State Senator Vandana Slatter, Lynnwood City Council Member and Mayor-Elect George Hurst, Shoreline City Council Member Eben Pobee, and Lynnwood City Council Member-Elect Bryce Carl Owings – as well as 14 other elected or former officials, small business owners, and local residents.

Nand states, “I love our community and am so proud to have early grassroots support for our campaign. I’m excited to share my vision for a better tomorrow with our hard-working community members throughout the 32nd LD over the next 11 months.”
