LYNNWOOD—The 72-year-old man, who was the victim of a domestic violence assault in his Lynnwood residence on March 2, tragically passed away on Tuesday, March 10.

The charges in this case have been amended to Second-Degree Murder, and the suspect remains in Snohomish County Jail with a $500,000 bail. Â
At approximately 3:20 a.m., on Monday, March 2, South County Fire responded to a residence in the 16200 block of Larch Way for reports of an unresponsive 72-year-old man. Upon arrival, medics began performing CPR and transported the victim to Providence Regional Medical Center. Aid personnel requested law enforcement to respond due to the victim’s injuries and evidence observed at the scene.Â
Deputies responded to the scene and discovered the victim and the suspect, a 75-year-old man, were roommates and had recent verbal disputes. During the altercation today, the 75-year-old suspect assaulted the victim, resulting in critical injuries.
Detectives with the Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes Unit responded to investigate, and the 75-year-old suspect was taken into custody. He was interviewed by detectives and booked into the Snohomish County Jail for First-Degree Assault DV.
The victim was transported to Providence Regional Medical Center in critical condition and passed away from his injuries 8 days later.
