Adam Fortney announces 2027 campaign for Snohomish County Sheriff

SNOHOMISH COUNTY—Adam Fortney has officially announced his campaign for Snohomish County Sheriff in the 2027 election. According to his press release he promises to bring transparency, accountability and a new generation of leadership back to the Sheriff’s Office.

BELOW IS HIS CAMPAIGN’S OFFICAL PRESS RELEASE:

Former Sheriff Adam Fortney announced that he is running for Sheriff of Snohomish County in the November 2027 election, launching a campaign centered on what he calls a “People First – Future Focused” approach to public safety leadership.

Fortney’s campaign will focus on transforming and revitalizing leadership within the Sheriff’s Office while strengthening public safety and supporting the next generation of law enforcement professionals.

“It is time for a new generation of leadership in public safety,” Fortney said in announcing his campaign. “Our community deserves leadership that brings hope, integrity, and progress to the Sheriff’s Office and to every person we serve.”

The campaign platform will emphasize transparency, recruitment and retention of deputies, fiscal responsibility, and collaboration with communities across Snohomish County. Fortney believes that the Sheriff’s Office must evolve to meet modern expectations for leadership and accountability.

“The old model of leadership simply doesn’t work anymore,” stated Fortney. “We must build a Sheriff’s Office that attracts professionals who not only have the skills to serve, but also the commitment to integrity, service, and community trust.”

One of Fortney’s primary goals is to focus on building a culture within the Sheriff’s Office that values professionalism, transparency, and collaboration with the public.

“In a time when communities often feel divided, we need leadership that brings people together. Leadership that listens, is transparent, and puts people first.” Adam Fortney.

The campaign will spend the coming months meeting with residents and community leaders across Snohomish County ahead of the 2027 election.
