MUKILTEO โ Jason Moon, Council President for Mukilteo, Wash., has been appointed to the National League of Cities (NLC) 2026 Energy, Environment and Natural Resources (EENR) Federal Advocacy Committee. Council President Moon was elected to a one-year term and will provide strategic direction and guidance for NLCโs federal advocacy agenda and policy priorities on management and more. The appointment was announced by NLC President Kevin Kramer, Councilmember from Louisville, Ky.

Just as my work outside city hall,ย at Zeolite Composites, where we focus on scalable, sustainable, and innovativeย solutions, I look forward to helping cities across the country advance policies that protect our environment, strengthen our infrastructure, and improve quality of life for all.โ
As a member of NLCโs EENR Committee, Council President Moon will play a key role in shaping NLCโs policy positions and advocate on behalf of Americaโs cities, towns, and villages before Congress, with the administration and at home in Mukilteo, Wash.

The 2026 EENR Committee will be led by Chair Jan Kulmann, Mayor of Thornton, Colo.; Vice Chair Abbie Kamin, Councilmember from Houston, Texas; and Vice Chair Elise Partin, Mayor of Cayce, S.C.
Moon was appointed unanimously to the City Council in 2022 to fill the remainder of Joe Marineโs term through December 31, 2023. He was then elected in 2023 to serve a four-year term and elected Council President in 2026. He graduated from the University of Washington with a Bachelor of Arts degree in drama and communications and an MBA. He also attended Kamiak High School and participated in Kamiak High School functions, where he grew to love Mukilteo. He currently serves as the director of communications, media, and public relations at Zeolite Composites. He previously served in account management at Microsoft and director of Marketing for Amazonโs Asian Affinity Group.
