“Barn in the USA! Celebrating America’s 250” at the 2026 Evergreen State Fair

MONROE—For 117 years, the Evergreen State Fair has brought people together to celebrate and honor the rich history of Snohomish County. This year’s theme is more than a playful turn of phrase, “Barn in the USA! Celebrating America’s 250”, it invites us to reflect on our nation’s past, recognize those who helped build it and honor the traditions that continue to shape our community today.

Each year, history is woven into every corner of the fair. From the delicate artistry of lace making, quilting, and spinning in the Display Hall, to third-generation exhibitors proudly leading their dairy cows in the showring, tradition is alive and thriving. It lives on through the multigenerational families involved with Skykomish Valley Indian Education and the cultural programming of the Longhouse. It echoes in the excitement of the International Lumberjack Show, captivating audiences for more than four decades, and in the pride felt as the rodeo drill team rides into the arena to present the colors.

These moments, both big and small, form the fabric of our shared community, preserving our heritage while inspiring future generations. The Evergreen State Fair marks the grand finale of summer; 11 days when the community comes together to celebrate, connect, and carry forward the traditions of Snohomish County.

“As we celebrate the 117th Evergreen State Fair, we’re proud to continue a tradition that generations of families across Snohomish County have made part of their lives,” said Fair Manager Mike Ohlsen. “The Fair is where community comes together — to enjoy great entertainment, support local agriculture, make memories with family and friends, and celebrate what makes this region so special. Everyone is welcome, whether you’ve been coming for decades or it’s your very first visit.”

“As our nation celebrates America’s 250th anniversary, the Evergreen State Fair is proud to bring our community together to honor the traditions that connect us,” said Snohomish County Parks Director Sharon Walker. “The Fair has always been a place where generations gather for summer fun, and this year’s celebration will make that experience even more meaningful. We invite everyone to join us for this special year at the Evergreen State Fair.”
