Armed suspect wounded after firing on officers in Arlington domestic dispute

ARLINGTON — The Snohomish Multiple Agency Response Team is investigating an officer-involved shooting that occurred early Saturday at an Arlington apartment complex after officers responded to a domestic-violence call between a father and his adult son.

Arlington police were called to the Timbers by Vintage complex around 4 a.m. Saturday for reports of a domestic-violence incident. A 28-year-old male, who was armed with multiple guns, began firing rounds at officers from both inside and outside his unit, according to SMART investigators. No officers were injured. Officers returned fire, striking the suspect multiple times.

The suspect was taken to Providence Regional Medical Center in Everett for treatment and is expected to survive, Ofc. Nathan Fabia with the Mukilteo Police Dept. and public information officer with SMART, confirmed.

SMART detectives have found probable cause for multiple domestic-violence crimes involving the suspect, officials said. A reverse 911 notification was sent to nearby residents advising them to shelter in place during the incident. Authorities said there is no ongoing threat to the public.

The Snohomish Multiple Agency Response Team is made up of investigators from various Snohomish County law enforcement agencies and the Washington State Patrol. It handles use-of-force incidents, including officer-involved shootings.

No further details about the suspect or officers involved have been released. The investigation remains active.
