Community Transit seeks public comment on six-year Transit Development Plan

SNOHOMISH COUNTYโ€“ Community Transit is seeking public comment on the draft 2025-2030 Transit Development Plan (TDP) through July 2.ย  The plan serves as the agencyโ€™s roadmap for the next six years. It includes activities, accomplishments, and performance reports from the previous year, and a refreshed six-year forecast of agency financials, service levels, and capital projects. The TDP can be viewed at ctgo.org/tdp.ย

 Key initiatives outlined in the 2026-2031 draft TDP include: 

  • Adding service, including expansion of the Swift Bus Rapid Transit network and new Zip Shuttle zonesย 
  • Progress toward the transition to a zero emissions fleetย 
  • Enhanced customer experience with an emphasis on safety and accessibilityย 

The plan also includes resuming work with the City of Everett towards potential annexation into the Community Transit service area in response to population growth and transportation demand. Annexation is subject to Everett City Council and Community Transit Board approval.

Community Transit is required by the Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) to adopt a six-year Transit Development Plan that is updated annually.

Community Transit provides bus and paratransit service, vanpool, and innovative transit options in Snohomish County. The agency is expanding the Swift bus rapid transit network to connect people to light rail and provide fast, frequent service throughout the county.
