Users around the world are reporting problems accessing Facebook and Instagram around 6:40 a.m. PST, Friday, with many unable to log in or use the apps normally. Users of Instagram, Messenger and Threads are experiencing similar issues.

Common complaints include:
- Inability to log into accounts
- Apps crashing or failing to load feeds
- Blank screens or error messages
- Sudden logouts while using the platforms
Downdetector showed elevated user reports for both services. On Facebook, the majority of complaints (56%) involved the app, followed by login issues (26%). For Instagram, app problems accounted for 60% of reports, with login and server connection issues also prominent.
“I was logged in but no stories would load, posts and reels loaded fine but no comments would appear on anything! Then it logged me out and wouldn’t allow me to log back in. Messenger too! Couldn’t load any new messages,” wrote on Reddit user.

Reports came from multiple countries, including the United States, India, and the Philippines. Some users described being logged out mid-session, such as while trying to upload stories. Philippine media outlets reported more than 1,200 complaints related to Facebook in that region alone.
Meta has not issued an official public statement about the outage as of Friday.
