Applications Open for City of Mukilteo DEI Commission

MUKILTEO — The City of Mukilteo is accepting applications from residents interested in serving a three-year term on the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Commission.

The DEI Commission plays a vital role in advancing the city’s commitment to creating an inclusive, welcoming, and equitable community for all residents. Through education, outreach and community engagement, the commission fosters greater understanding of diversity while celebrating the unique experiences and perspectives that strengthen the community.

“Mukilteo thrives when every resident feels welcomed, heard and able to participate fully in our community. The Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Commission helps the city understand the needs and experiences of everyone who calls Mukilteo home,” said Mukilteo Mayor Joe Marine. “I encourage residents who are passionate about serving their community to apply.”

As an advisory body to the mayor and City Council, the commission will recommend opportunities to advance diversity and promote programs that foster a welcoming and inclusive community. The commission also identifies strategies to enhance public engagement, remove barriers to participation, and improve access to city services for residents of all backgrounds.

Applications are available on the City of Mukilteo’s website.

The Mukilteo DEI Commission meets at 5:30 p.m. on the fourth Wednesday of each month in the City Council Chambers, 11930 Cyrus Way, Mukilteo. Commissioners may attend in person, online or by phone. Meetings are open to the public.
