LYNNWOOD — Edmonds College and Western Washington University have partnered to create a Guaranteed Transfer Admission Program, giving local students a clear, predictable pathway to earning their bachelor’s degree.
The agreement guarantees admission to WWU for Edmonds students who apply after finishing a qualifying transfer associate degree with at least a 2.5 GPA. Beyond guaranteed entry, students benefit from a waived application fee and immediate eligibility for transfer scholarship opportunities.
The agreement also creates an accelerated pipeline for high school students. Through Edmonds’ Running Start program, eligible high school juniors and seniors can earn two years of transferable college credit tuition-free. Students who complete a transfer associate degree can enter Western with junior standing.
“We are very excited about our ability to work with Western Washington University and provide a smooth transfer pathway for students,” said Edmonds Vice President of Instruction Kim Chapman. “Western is a strong partner for Edmonds College, and we are pleased to formalize this agreement for our students.”

The college serves approximately 18,000 students annually, including approximately 800 international students from about 55 countries. The college currently offers six Bachelor of Applied Science degrees, one Bachelor of Science degree, 66 associate degrees, and 111 professional certificates in 30 programs of study. The college operates two on-campus residence halls housing approximately 400 students. The college offers a wide range of comprehensive offerings: College credit in high school, basic education skills to earn a high school diploma/GED or to prepare for college, short-term non-credit training, continuing education, online degrees and certificates, and courses offered day, night, and weekend. Support services include childcare, a campus food pantry, 211 navigator, and mental health resources.
