SNOHOMISH AND ISLAND COUNTIES —The Sno-Isle Libraries Foundation Board of Directors is seeking new members from Snohomish and Island counties who are passionate about making a difference for public libraries. Interested residents should submit an online application by August 28, 2026.
The Foundation secures philanthropic support for diverse programs and initiatives throughout the Library District, which serves 800,000 residents in Snohomish and Island counties through 23 locations and a Bookmobile. Funding from the Foundation helps bridge the gap between public funding and constantly evolving community needs and enables the library to innovate, enhance its programs, and serve more people each year.
The Foundation is looking for candidates with experience and interest in organizing a capital campaign as well as representatives from the corporate and business sectors interested in helping the Foundation expand its corporate and business connections. Previous experience serving on a non-profit board or working with a non-profit organization is appreciated but not required. The Foundation is committed to embedding equity and inclusion in its work and values the unique experiences of Board members from diverse backgrounds and communities.
“The Sno-Isle Libraries Foundation is the Library District’s lead fundraising partner helping secure philanthropic support for library programs and initiatives advancing literacy, provide resources for students and adults, funding capital needs, and ensure our communities have strong and thriving libraries,” said Foundation Board President Sami Postma. “We are a fundraising board, and directors play a key role in supporting the Foundation’s fundraising efforts and leveraging resources to expand the library’s life-changing programs and services.”
The Board of Directors oversees the Foundation’s fundraising efforts, finances, and policies to ensure its successful operations. Interested candidates must be residents of Snohomish or Island counties. Board members serve a three-year term with an option of serving up to three consecutive terms.
