Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office deputies, and Marysville Fire, responded to a call to a residence on Lake Goodwin around 8:00 a.m., Tuesday, August 15, reporting a watercraft had collided with a private dock. The watercraft’s operator, an adult male — the lone occupant of the vessel — sustained traumatic injuries, the Sheriff’s Office said, and fell into the water.

Witnesses who heard the collision quickly responded and were able to rescue the man from the water.

When Marysville Fire personnel arrived, they performed CPR and other lifesaving efforts, but the victim was ultimately pronounced dead at the scene.

The Snohomish County Medical Examiner’s Office took custody of the decedent. Positive identification, as well as cause and manner of death, will come from the Medical Examiner.

The Sheriff’s Office Marine Services Unit responded and removed the personal watercraft from the water.  The Marine Services Unit also has taken the primary investigative role in this collision investigation.

The incident is currently being investigated by the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office.
