MARYSVILLE — This September, National Preparedness Month highlights the importance of “Prepared Neighbors” and the role we all play in building stronger, more resilient communities. In Marysville, local businesses and organizations are putting that idea into action through the city’s Marysville Ready Business program, helping them prepare before disasters and hazardous weather occur.
Marysville Ready Business provides preparedness resources for businesses and organizations of all types, including nonprofits, churches and community organizations. Participants can take practical steps to strengthen the community’s ability to respond and recover when emergencies occur.
The program also is integrated with the National Weather Service’s Weather-Ready Nation Ambassador initiative, helping local organizations improve their readiness for hazardous weather and share safety information with employees, customers and the community.
The program’s success can be seen on the new Weather-Ready Nation Ambassador map, which shows a notable concentration of participating organizations in the Marysville area. “We deeply appreciate Marysville’s proactive approach to building a region of truly prepared neighbors,” said Reid Wolcott, Warning Coordination Meteorologist at the National Weather Service in Seattle. “By integrating with our Weather-Ready Nation Ambassador program, local businesses are not just protecting their own operations—they are taking actionable steps to strengthen the resilience of the entire community.”
During National Preparedness Month, the City of Marysville encourages local businesses and organizations to join Marysville Ready Business and become part of the region’s growing network of prepared neighbors. Participants can access preparedness resources, connect with Marysville Emergency Management team and be included on the regional Weather-Ready Nation Ambassador map.
