Just after 5:40 pm, firefighters were dispatched to reports of a house on fire in the 11100 block of 30th Drive Southeast. When they arrived on scene minutes later, firefighters saw flames coming from one end of the one-story house, near an exterior car port.

Firefighters launched a coordinated, offensive attack to extinguish fire on the side and back of the house. While some firefighters focused on cutting open the garage door to gain access to the fire, other firefighters searched the house and confirmed no people or pets were still inside. Roof ventilation was also performed. The fire spread to grass on a neighboring property, burning close to the home. Thanks to aggressive suppression efforts, the home next door was saved.

Firefighters extinguished the fire in less than thirty minutes. One side of the home sustained heavy fire damage.

Six people โ€“ two adults and four children โ€“ and two dogs were displaced by the fire and are being helped with immediate needs by Support 7 and the American Red Cross. The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Snohomish County Fire Marshalโ€™s Office. South County Fire thanks Everett Fire Department for assisting with this response.
