MOUNTLAKE TERRACE, WA, July 20, 2020 — Drowning victim at Lake Ballinger identified as Ismael Mazariegos Barreda, a 33-year old resident of Mountlake Terrace.

Sunday, Barreda joined his siblings at Lake Ballinger to enjoy some fun at the lake.  Barreda never returned from a swim to the lake’s island, located a few hundred yards away. His body was recovered a Monday morning.

The Snohomish County Medical Examiner’s Office is working to determine an official cause of death.

The WAGRO Foundation is asking for donations to raise the funds needed to return Barreda’s body back to his family in Honduras where he will be buried.
