Mukilteo City Council approves $150,000 for small business COVID-19 relief

From now to Sept. 1, small businesses in Mukilteo can apply for grants between $2,500 and $10,000 through the Mukilteo CARES for Businesses Program.

Businesses will need a Mukilteo location (in 98275), 20 or fewer employees, and a “demonstrated impact from the pandemic.” According to a post on FaceBook from the City of Mukilteo – Community and Government page, awards will be made about a week after the Sept. 1 deadline, around Sept. 9.

The grants’ purpose will be to help mitigate the impact of business closures and revenue reductions associated with the COVID-19 pandemic, and support small business recovery. To be eligible for the grant, those expenditures must have been incurred only between March 1, 2020 and Oct. 31, 2020 to be eligible.

According to the FaceBook post, “Funds are limited so it is expected that not all businesses that apply will be awarded a grant.”

The guidelines and application can be found at https://mukilteowa.gov/covid-19/.
