With love from me to all of you

Councilman George Hurst

During this holiday season I would like to share with you a message of hope.  In 2020 we have experienced a pandemic, which triggered an economic crisis, and on top of that we are again faced with examining how can we achieve racial equality in our city and in our country.  So how can there be a message of hope during these trying times?

First, my faith assures me that there is always hope because of God’s love for us.  Second, I know in our nation’s history we have had times when we have been even more divided, and we have also faced greater crisis; and still, In the end, we as a people, have overcome those challenges.  I am confident there are better times ahead.

Please consider reaching out and sharing this hope to those around you who feel isolated and afraid.  2020 may not be remembered as the most festive holiday season but we can make sure it is a season of hope for our neighbors.

It is time to show love, and empathy to those that we care about and cherish. I hope the magic of Christmas fills every corner of your hearts. I wish you love and light in this challenging season.

Merry Christmas! I say this from my heart with love from me to all of you.

When someone wishes you Merry Christmas, smile because this is one of the greatest blessings, with the best of intentions, which someone can wish upon another.

Whether you believe in Christianity, Hinduism, Judaism, Buddhism, a follower of Islam or nothing at all, please accept this in the sincere spirit it is intended.  Merry Christmas and have a greater 2021!
