RICHLAND, WASH. (June 7, 2021) ‒ Gesa Credit Union last week announced the addition of a new affinity debit card to their suite of Local Heroes cards, designed to benefit healthcare workers across the state of Washington. Each time a Healthcare Heroes Affinity Debit Card is used, Gesa will make a donation toward organizations that directly support healthcare workers through the Local Heroes Grant Program.
The suite of cards includes local heroes who serve communities across Washington state, with teachers, firefighters, veterans and law enforcement represented with their own card. With every swipe of a Local Heroes Gesa Visa® Debit Card, Gesa members earn funds designated for grants in that card’s Local Heroes category available to eligible organizations that support Local Heroes in regions where Gesa is active.
“At Gesa we’re committed to supporting those who have given so much to our communities here in Washington. We appreciate our local healthcare heroes tremendously, especially with the remarkable work they’ve done throughout the pandemic,” said Don Miller, President and CEO of Gesa Credit Union. “This new card costs our members nothing but provides the heroes of our communities a tangible benefit.”
Gesa’s Co-branded Affinity Debit Card Program supports local heroes by earning money for eligible organizations supporting these heroes each time a card is used. Gesa members can switch to a Co-Branded Affinity Debit Card at no cost and can request a card by mail, or in-person for instant issue at any branch location. The cards are free to Gesa members with a checking account and there is no fee for members to switch their card to any of the designs offered.
