We are honored to announce the recipients of the Trinity Seminary Scholarship for the 2021-2022 Academic Year. Chosen from more than 30 applications, three exceptional students will receive a scholarship thanks to your continued support and investment in their lives.
The Trinity Education Foundation offers a Seminary Scholarship in keeping with the purpose and history of Lutheran Bible Institute Seattle/Trinity Lutheran College by supporting those called to a life of service through full-time and lay ministry. The scholarships you support are awarded on a yearly basis to individuals attending Christian Seminaries throughout the United States for tuition and related expenses.
In 2020 the Board of Trustees approved an increase in support by making the scholarship renewable for up to three years. More than ever Trinity Education Foundation seeks to honor the impact of Lutheran Bible Institute through prioritizing support of a new generation of faith leaders.
The number of scholarships and the amount granted is determined by the Board of Trustees as part of the yearly strategic planning process.
Ana Del Corazón, who goes by Sana, lives with her wife and son in Iowa. After earning a Masters in Public Affairs at Princeton University and a Masters in Social Work at the Smith School for Social Work, Sana worked in social services, the foster care system, and community mental health. Although this was satisfying work, God had another plan for her and she was called to Seminary. Sana writes, “Through involvement with my church, I’ve seen that there is something about church that enables people to be held and challenged to transform like no other institution or group. I am open to formation, to being shaped into who and what God wants/needs me to be – be that an ordained pastor who provides pastoral counseling or something else that I have yet to imagine.”
Will attended Concordia University Chicago for his undergraduate degree, double-majoring in History and Theological Languages. Upon graduating, he enrolled in Concordia Seminary in 2019. Will currently lives in Missouri with his wife as he continues his studies to become a pastor in the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod. “The Seminary has taught me the value of practicing ‘wellness’ in all aspects of my life including spiritual, relational, emotional, cultural, physical, financial, and intellectual. It is essential for the pastoral leader to practice these areas of wellness in their own life before they can lead and encourage others to do the same. Because of this training, I am honored and excited to be able to joyfully share the power of Christ’s life-giving and life-sustaining Word with others in the context God places me to serve.”
Timothy was born in Kenya but has been a traveler of the world. He did his undergraduate in India earning a Bachelor of Theology at Spicer Memorial College. After graduation, Timothy worked in the Philippines as a Missionary and Bible Worker, South Korea as a Youth Pastor, and Laos as a Christian Education Teacher. He currently lives with his wife and 2-year-old son in Michigan. “Seminary will open up further study and tools to help me experience spiritual transformation and prepare to develop others and lead the Church.”
The vision of the Trinity Education Foundation is to see graduates embark on meaningful vocations and constructively impact their communities in response to Christ’s calling to lives of service and stewardship. But it takes YOU to make this vision a reality!
