Rosehill Community Board – Volunteer Opportunities

The City of Mukilteo is seeking candidates to fill vacancies on the Rosehill Community Board and Parks & Arts Commission.

There are currently 3 regular vacancies, which are three-year terms each, on the Rosehill Community Board. Three Board members’ terms expired May 3rd.

The City of Mukilteo is also seeking a student member of the Rosehill Community Board to replace student Margaret Wang, who has served the maximum number of two consecutive terms.  Per Resolution 2015-06 which created the Board, the student member “will be a student from the Mukilteo School District”; residency in Mukilteo will not be required.

The term of this student position is one year, commencing August 17, 2021.

The Board meets quarterly on the second Tuesday of the month, at 4:00 p.m. at Rosehill for about an hour and a half, requiring a minimum time commitment.

The purpose of the Rosehill Community Board is to provide input to the Mayor and City Council regarding policies and operations at the Rosehill Community Center. Learn more about the Rosehill Community Board here.

Park & Arts Commission Vacancy

There is currently one vacancy on the Parks & Arts Commission, to fill a term that expires July 31st, 2021. This is a three-year term.

The Parks & Arts Commission consists of seven members by the Mayor and subject to confirmation by the City Council. Duties of this Commission include advising and making recommendation to the Council for the management, control, improvement, beautification and planning of all city parks and of all play and recreational grounds and facilities. Monthly meetings will take place 7:00pm the first Thursday of the month via Zoom.

Application Process for Mukilteo Board and Commission vacancies

Complete the online application to be considered.  The application period will remain open until applications are received. All applicants must be a resident of the City of Mukilteo.

After receipt of applications, interviews with the Mayor will be scheduled virtually via Zoom. City Council confirmation will be scheduled shortly after.
