MUKILTEO, Wash., October 25, 2021 – For its 6 p.m. Monday, October 25 SPECIAL MEETING the Mukilteo City Council will discuss/vote the following items:

Council Chamber Audio Visual Upgrade Contract
A Council MOTION to award a contract for the Council Chambers audio and visual upgrades to Avidex Industries LLC, in the amount of $130,109.33, which includes WA State Sales and Use tax, plus $5,803 annually for support. The motion is also to approve a project contingency fund in the amount of $13,011, approximately ten percent (10%) of the bid; and to approve Resolution No. 2021-14, authorizing use of ARP funding for the Council Chambers AV Upgrade project.
Utility Assistance
The topic of utility assistance to residents and businesses of Mukilteo was discussed by City Council on August 16 and September 20, 2021. The Council granted preliminary approval to the concept on September 20th in the amount of $681,000, with instructions to return with more detail as to how the program will be administered.
The now has a MOTION to approve Resolution No. 2021-15, approving the use of ARPA funds to provide Utility Assistance funding in an amount not to exceed $498,649.
Police Body Camera Program
A Council MOTION to approve Resolution No. 2021-13, authorizing the use of American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds to start a police department body camera program.
This cost includes all hardware and software for the body camera program, and a Public Safety Network Engineer who will provide full hardware, software, and public disclosure support to effectively manage the body camera program.
The State of Washington provided cities with one-time money to offset costs from law enforcement and criminal justice legislation enacted between in 2020 and 2021. The City’s share was approximately $85,000. This amount can be applied to costs associated with this program in 2021.
