US Trail Running Conference heads to Mukilteo in 2022

MUKILTEO, Wash., December 11, 2021 – Active at Altitude, organizers of the US Trail Running Conference have announced that the tenth edition of the industry-leading Conference will be held in Snohomish County, Washington, in the city of Mukilteo, October 19 – 22, 2022.

Snohomish County, located in northwest Washington State just 15 miles north of Seattle and 120 miles south of Vancouver, British Columbia, is nestled between the sparkling blue waters of the Salish Sea and the rugged, snow-capped peaks of the Cascade Mountains. This will be the first time in the event’s ten-year history that the Pacific Northwest will play host to the Conference.

The Conference provides high quality content, innovative perspectives, networking and actionable practices to help race directors create and develop successful trail races and to help trail runners learn tips and techniques to further enjoy and excel in the sport.

The Conference is held in partnership with the American Trail Running Association. Registration is now open for race directors, with early bird pricing available until February 14, 2022.

The race director segment of the Conference will take place at Rosehill Community Center, Mukilteo, and enjoys beautiful views along with the superb facilities this area has to offer. The Center has floor-to-ceiling windows and stunning views of Possession Sound and Whidbey Island in Puget Sound. Details of the location for the final trail runner day of the event will be released in the near future. Informal trail runs will take place at nearby locations.

Host partner Snohomish Sports Commission will be working with Conference organizers to create a must-attend in-person event for both trail race directors and trail runners.

Event Director Terry Chiplin comments: “We are very excited to bring the US Trail Running Conference to the Pacific Northwest. Snohomish County Sports Commission created a very attractive proposal, and we are excited to come and enjoy the energizing natural beauty, excellent facilities and the variety of amazing trails that the area provides. We look forward to connecting with the vibrant trail running community in the PNW and surrounding areas, and to produce an outstanding Conference for our tenth anniversary.”

“We are thrilled to be hosting the US Trail Running Conference here in Snohomish County”, said Snohomish County Sports Commission Executive Director Tammy Dunn, “This conference provides us the opportunity to showcase the Pacific Northwest’s natural beauty of outdoor trails to event organizers and runners from across the country.”

Nancy Hobbs, Executive Director, American Trail Running Association says, “Snohomish County checks all the boxes to host the Conference – location, location, location.  With a great network of trails, attendees can experience forested terrain and marvel at scenic vistas on morning runs. Presentations and networking opportunities will be further enhanced by including local experts from the community. We’ll not only celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Conference, but the magnificence of the Pacific Northwest.”
