Mukilteo Finance Director resigns

MUKILTEO, Wash., March 14, 2022 – Shawn Hunstock, the Finance Director for the City of Mukilteo who was hired fifteen months ago by former Mayor Jennifer Gregerson, submitted his resignation last week.

Today, Administrative Steve Powers confirmed with the Lynnwood Times that Hunstock’s last day with the city is March 31, 2022. Mayor Joe Marine shared with the Lynnwood Times that he will disclose Hunstock’s replacement in the coming days.

Sources tell the Lynnwood Times that Hunstock was Mukilteo’s sixth Finance Director within the last eight or nine years.

Hanstock was unanimously approved by the Mukilteo City Council on December 7, 2020. According to his LinkedIn profile, between 2011 to present, Hanstock was the Finance Director or Finance Manager for the following municipalities and businesses: City of Edmonds (2011), City of Maple valley (2013), County of Chelan (2016), Upper Columbia Salmon Recovery Board (2018), City of Des Moines (2019), and the City of Mukilteo (2021).

Hunstock replaced former Finance Director Michelle Meyer, who left Mukilteo in September of 2020 for an administrative services director position at Island County. Meyer is now the Finance Director for the City of Lynnwood.
