ARTICLE UPDATE 9:53 a.m., June 19, 2023: In the Monday morning update on the Sunday night Alderwood Mall shoot out, the Lynnwood Police spokeswoman shared that the motive for the incident was the attempted robbery of a cellphone and that only one suspect fired a gun — there was no gunfire exchange as originally reported by LPD — and no one was injured nor shot.
LYNNWOOD, Wash., June 18, 2023—Lynnwood Police apprehended four suspects involved in a late night shoot out in the Macy’s parking lot of Alderwood Mall.
The motive for this incident was over a robbery of a cell phone. There was no gunfire exchange between the four suspects, only one suspect shot.
At approximately 8:50 p.m. on Sunday night, Lynnwood Police responded to a robbery with shots fired at Alderwood Mall in the parking lot outside of Macy’s. Police learned that gunfire was exchanged between several of the suspects. No one was injured in the exchange.

The suspects took off in two separate cars, that resulted in a short pursuit with Lynnwood Police. One car was involved in a collision in Mountlake Terrace and the occupants involved were taken into custody. The second vehicle was abandoned in Mountlake Terrace and K9 was able to track and locate the occupants of the second vehicle.
All four suspects involved in the Alderwood Mall shoot out are now in custody and according to the police, there is no immediate danger to the public.
As of 1:31 a.m., Monday, June 19, no arrests related to this incident have been made according to the Snohomish County Jail Roster. Also, it is unknown if this is gang-related nor if this incident were involving minors.
